Yesterday

Its lengthy and no pix sorry. Just venting.
Yesterday afternoon my mom took Jonathan back to the ER because his leg was getting worse, meaning that he can't even hobble around now. When ever he stands up the pain in his leg gets really intense and basically feels like its ballooning with fluid. Well the doc seems to think thats just fine. So he comes home without any more information. Later that night, about 4 Emma woke up wanting her diaper changed and more pedialite. Which I am happy to give her especially when she has been dehydrated. I was actually happy she had peed enough to want a new diaper. I heard a door open and knock again the wall from our bedroom, or thats what I thought I heard. Emma wanted daddy to say good night to her again. So I went to see if he was up to limping down the hall. He wasn't in bed, so I looked in our bathroom and at first I didn't see him. Then I did see him and the scene register to me...Towels all askew...Rug wadded up... Jonathan was laying on the bathroom floor body all contorted, head looking very kinked against the tub. So I rushed up to him, he was unconscious. He had passed out. So freakin scary!!! I gently pull his head onto the floor, started rubbing his face and calling his name. It took him a little while to come back, but as soon as he did. I asked if I should call 911. He immediately says NO. Gets really sleepy looking and turns white as ghost. I say if you don't want me to call anybody you have to keep talking to me!! He slowly starts to become aware of his surroundings. Realizing he passed out, fell and hit his back and head on the tub, all while trying to take a leak. If it was any other situation I would've taken a pix with him laying on the floor with his willy hangin out:)
Today went to the doc said the same thing as the doc in the ER. Only this guy also thought passing out from pain was ok. Where do these people get their degrees seriously! So we are trying to get him into a Orthopedic Surgeon to see if he can figure out whats going on. Soonest we can get into his a week from tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm going CRAZY! My husband can't walk or work. Passes out when stands up because of pain. Blood pressure? Who knows? Not the Docs. Then who?
I took Emma back to the doc today to get a check up on her ears. Spent 45 minutes waiting for a prescription after coming back 1 1/2 later. Got dinner in her, let it settle. Tried to give the dose of meds. She got all worked up and puked it up. So ... I guess you could say I am overwhelmed!!
I kind of forgot to mention some of the New Years resolutions I have with all this "excitement."
  • Be more consistent in my scripture study and ensign reading
  • Be more mindful of what Heavenly Father wants me to be doing
  • Continue to enjoy my husband, its forever you know:)
  • Eat more healthy- incorporate more whole grains and veggies... already started ...yeah for me:)
  • Get rid of the binkies ... snipped the tops off today and Emma likes to hold them but she doesn't suck on them. I love being able to check things off my list:)
  • Get Emma potty trained
  • Move Emma into a big girl bed this spring
I am not setting too many goals because then I will get overwhelmed. I really enjoy blogging. Its a break for me. Jonathan said the other day, you are more happy when you get a chance to blog and its true. I get to put down what I'm thinking, my feelings, my frustrations and then walk away. Most of the time I feel so much better and less stressed after I write down my feelings. Also, I have been printing my blog posts and putting them in a folder for journaling purposes. I don't always have time to scrapbook, journal and blog. Thats whats great about blogging, its all in one except for those fancy scrapbook girls. I tried, but I just can't stick with it:)
Well thanks for letting me jabber and vent!

From Jonathan

This is Jonathan. Having an extra day off of work has given me a chance to post my own thank you to all of you that have been an amazing support to my girls and I. If you’re not sure I’m referring to you, then you are probably exactly who I’m referring to. I wish I could provide every need and want for Jaci and Emma, but I can’t. Jaci provides what I can’t for our Emma. The Lord – through our family and friends – lends what I can’t to my beautiful wife who endlessly gives of herself to make Emma and I happy. I am such a blessed man! To have such gorgeous and sweet girls at home and my celestial baby boy waiting for us beyond the veil.

I especially want to thank our anonymous friends who did our 12 days of Christmas. I can’t think of any other way to thank you since we have NO CLUE who you are. We tried to figure it out (sorry, it couldn’t be helped (: ) but we have only vague maybe’s. It has me completely boggled that someone knows us so well as to get such perfect gifts for us, spending significant resources, and all without us knowing who you are. And when I try to think “why?”, I can only figure that you have fallen victim to the charm and beauty of my girls, as I have. I thank you, and we pray that you will receive and recognize the blessings you deserve.

Cutest Things

My sick little munchkin. I feel guilty posting this pix because now everyone knows Emma still has a binky. We only have it at night time, but on rare occasions when she is sick we give it to her. This was the only thing to stop her crying Friday. So for all of our sanity I gave in. Please don't judge me, we are woking to get ride of them all together. We are just waiting for her to not be sick, hopefully the transition will be a little easier if she is feeling well.

Some super cute things Emma has been saying while she is sick:

"Wrap me up and carry me like a baby."
We ask how are you doing? She will say either "I don't feel so good," or "I don't know, I am feeling ok."
"Watch Mer-mi-laid" Little Mermaid
"I love you" and points to herself when she says you.
She is saying the cutest things, and talking in complete sentences. Its amazing how much kids change as they grow!!

2010

Well, we definitely started the new year with a bang. Not anything exciting though. I guess that depends on your interpretation of exciting:) New years eve, Emma got a new bug, she starting throwing up. That has been going on for three days now. I don't know how to put it more mildly. I lost track of how many times she has thrown up, and can't tell you how many loads of laundry we have done. Jonathan is helping as much as he can but his leg is still very immobilizing. The doc gave us phenagrin to help Emma with the nausea, in suppository form. Oh that has been fun, as soon as we get it in, Emma pushes it out. We haven't been able to give Emma any of her antibiotic since Tuesday night, for her ear infection, so I hope her ears don't get worse from all of this. Last night it got even better, well not really. I got sick, so now I am throwing up in between helping Emma. In the middle of a load of laundry our washer broke, yup. So we were looking online to see what was out there. In the mist of all this I asked my grandma to look in the newspaper and see if she could find any. Well about an hour later, this is today, she tells me they have bought us a washer and when can Jonathan come pick it up. Now any of you who know Jonathan knows he is a very independent person. He has a really hard time accepting money or large gifts, its just his personality. We are so grateful but also so overwhelmed by their generosity. Family is amazing, and I am so grateful for ALL of my family. So it has been kind of crazy around here. I think we are all hoping for it to mellow down a bit.

My beautiful new washer. Thank you so much grandma, I LOVE it!!

Happy Christmas

Christmas Eve

Frosting sugar cookies

Christmas pajamas

We had a great Christmas holiday season. We got to see all of our family, not all on Christmas, but we did see them. Emma had so much fun, and it was so fun to see her really enjoy the holiday. She is finally old enough to get excited about it. We hope you all had happy holidays too!
We had some very sweet people anonymously do secret santa and the 12 days of Christmas for us this year. We still don't know who you are or why you chose our family, but we are sincerely grateful for your thoughtfulness and love. We hope you get this message and know we will always remember the kindness that you shared with us this year!

This is Emma yesterday, she put this cute outfit together. Yes... that is a swim diaper.

Ready to go see her cousins

All the girl cousins. I am so glad they are so close in age. Emma sure loves Misa and Tina!!
You might notice Emma is a little blurry, well she wouldn't hold still long enough to get a clear one. My little wiggle bug!

Accident Story

So I guess forgot to explain the details of Jonathan getting hurt. He was working up in Cedar in a gas station. He was trying to fix a glide, thats what the Red Bull slides on inside the coolers, it was too big so he was cutting off some to make it fit better. He was using a knife I bought him for our anniversary, ya rethinking that gift:) He was kneeling with one foot on the floor, with the glide propped up on a crate. He was putting a lot of pressure down to cut through the plastic glide. The knife slipped and went right into his leg. He said he got really mad because it hurt, then he got even more mad because he realized he cut himself pretty good. He put his hand down over the wound and it was like a bubble of blood under his pants. He called for the manager of the gas station, he immediately called 911. Jonathan was thinking, no I can drive myself. Then he passed out! So ya, when he wakes up he recognizes people he worked with when he was doing the paramedic program. They take him to the ER, and stitch him up. The doc was able to stick his finger into the cut past his first knuckle. So at least 1 inch deep, and 2 inches wide. So it doesn't look too bad just looking at the stitches, but its super tender and tons of swelling and bruising. Thats the story:) Thanks for being so concerned, we have such great friends and family. Jonathan has this sweet Aunt Louise, I hope I spelled it right, her husband Jerry, I think thats his name, gave Jonathan a cane almost 3 years ago that he made out of wood. It has come in handy, so thanks, its helping him get around.

This is his thigh after we got home from the hospital - his knee is farther down. There was a lot of swelling!

Unexpected

I usually call Jonathan around lunch right after I put Emma down for a nap to see how his day is going. As most of you know he works for RedBull which means he drives it, delivers it, and stocks it in all the stores he takes it to. So it is very common to hear check out beeping in the back ground. Ok now for today... I was planning on taking Emma to the doctor. She has been sick with a cough for a while, and she just can't get all the way well. So I called Jonathan to see if would be home in time to make it to her 2:45 apt. He said definately not, he had a major set back, which happens sometimes. So I asked when he would be home and he said late. Ok, well happened- he said "well I got hurt and I think I am going to go get some stiches," very casually. I replied, how did you get hurt? Are you going to the hospital? He says, "I got cut, and ya my friends are going to drive me." I stop to think to myself, ok his friends, what the heck is he talking about. Then I remember he is in Cedar. More thinking to myself, the check out beeping is a lot more consistent and regular than it would be at a grocery store, Oh Crap! Are you in an ambulance?! Jonathan replies, "If I say yes will you promise not to come?" I say I have to call him back. I am almost in tears freaking out. So...

And this

I drove up to Cedar to pick him up, he was barely able to walk out of the ER. He got about 8 stiches, and they said to come back in two weeks and they will take them out. He still has to work tomorrow, because other people are taking vacations so there are no extra drivers. The boss is seeing what he can do, if all else fails. I will work for RedBull for a couple of days, with my hubby's help of course. He did drive home the truck, I have no idea how, but he did. So everything is ok. He really can't walk at all on his leg. Jonathan is super tough, and doesn't like to make a big deal out of anything. So ya we had a really big day. My mom ended up taking Emma to the doctors office. She has an ear ache in both ears, and her cough is headed to her lungs with lots of gunk in there. So they put her on an antibiotic, hopefully she will get feeling better soon. Now I have to get back to my sick kid and criple husband:)
